Rue — the "herb of grace" — is one of the oldest protective plants in Western magic, worn and hung to turn back the evil eye.
Ruled by Mars and the element Fire, its powers are protection, banishing, healing, and the breaking of hexes and crossed conditions. Add it to an uncrossing or protection bath, hang a sprig over the door to guard the threshold, or dip a fresh stem in blessed water to asperge and cleanse a room.
Pairs well with: Black Tourmaline, Black Salt, Rosemary, Vervain, and White Sage.
